A man in the midst of a waiting crowd

A few days before, i started to go to my native place (Kanchipuram), its about 70km from my working place(Velachery, Chennai). I used to go by bus, hence i went to Ashok pillar to catch a bus, its the terminus for buses to kanchipuram. And i joined with the crowd who were waiting for the arrival of 79PP(which is the route number of the bus), since it is a demanding route at the weekends its no more surprise for us to see such a large crowd during the weekends. Whenever you enter any overcrowded bus stop, you can always hear people lamenting slogans like "transport people should understand to let more buses in this route" or "transport officials are not doing good" and forgets everything once they reached their home, or after they sit in the bus, or till they face someother inconvenience from the same department. I always feel safe in a overcrowded bus stop, since its nearly impossible to miss the bus due to our carelessness.

I just grabbed a handful of groundnuts to pass the waiting time. Suddenly the decibles of the crowd juggled, might be someone identified the bus on its way. And slowly everyone recognized the look of the approching bus cheated us with its resemblance of the one we are waiting for.

Again the same juggling sound and this time the identifier made the right attempt to inform the crowd with the correct news. And everyone(most of them are male) gets ready to show the guts to get a seat in the bus. It seems to be like a war to get a seat in this kind of situation, since most of the times, people count are twice or thrice than that of the available seats in the bus. So, according to statistics its one-third probability for me to get a seat, but looking at previous track records my success rate is damn high.

With boosting confidence through my track record, i get ready to get the seat with the tricks that i have earned through my past experience.

Atlast i managed to hold a seat, immediately after that an innocent guy( his dressing sense and look made me to think alike, he seems to have no idea of what is called style) outside the window asked me to hold a seat for him too. And with a mere helping attitude i agreed to reserve him a seat.


i have to move now, so i stop with this and will continue later in next couple of days.
